I can’t believe we’re half way through July. I spent the last month writing two book chapters, as I mentioned in my earlier post. I revised one and completely drafted the other. And they’re both out to the editors for review – that’s a good feeling. I am excited for the next step with both of these chapters.
The most meaningful experience of the month was writing the second of these two chapters. It was based on my undergraduate thesis, and so I had to do a lot of translation, but especially a lot of analysis, re-thinking, and re-conceptualizing (who really knows what they’re doing when “quantitative” and “qualitative” analyses are such big mouthfuls when you study for a bachelor’s degree?). It is also a different direction of research, going back to entertainment television and frameworks I have used earlier in my scholarly career. I very much enjoyed it. I still recommend the wonderful program that I worked for – and now heavily analyzed – Garantat 100% (if you read Romanian, this link is directly to the public television description of the program).
